University Legal Counsel
Mission Statement
The University Legal Counsel represents Virginia Tech in all legal matters. We provide general counsel and litigation services to the university's governing board and its President and administrative staff, as well as legal advice to university officers and employees in all matters affecting university operations and interests.
The services this office provides generally falls into three categories:
- Providing legal advice about how certain issues should be handled,
- Responding to actual or potential lawsuits and grievances, and
- Reviewing and revising contracts and other legal documents that permit the university to conduct business with outside entities.
